Assorted Cakes

I got strawberry cake, chocolate and fruit cake on the table this morning. If only I have the time and gadget to bake a cake, I would be delighted to make one for Christmas. Anyway, I first took a bite on chocolate cake.

It was already that chewy because it was there in the ref for two days. The rest of the cake were still wrapped and I plan to eat them maybe in the afternoon snack. Cakes were not that sweet so I don't get used of eating it since some cakes here were eggless, some are not that sweet so it is also good to health.

Three more days to go before Christmas. Kids do like cakes and pastries even the colorful ones. But I still like to eat cakes with fresh fruits. It is also great to match these cakes with your favorite beverage like hot coffee or tea, milk, soda drinks and fresh fruit juice.

Fruity Cake

It was our breakfast well thanks to our cylinder tank who got emptied and I was not able to cook anything at all and hubby bought this cake the night before he went home and so I said this was our breakfast together with yakult or fermented milk drink.

Fruity eggless cake, one for me and hubby

Its a creamy eggless cake topped with fruits like cherry, kiwi and ripe papaya which is worth Rs 32 a piece at Monginis cake shop. I also like the double chocolate that hubby bought at that same day but I just didn't take a snap because I think I already featured it here on my other blog.

Fruits on top were cherry, kiwi and ripe papaya

The fruits on top was healthy and just fine with the creamy vanilla flavor of the cake. Four days before Christmas, wow! didn't notice how fast time flies by and this cake is also a good cake to have because it is colorful yet simple and good also for vegetarians.

A Piece of Chocolate Almond Cake

Happy Birthday My Dear husband! This year we don’t want to be extravagant in celebrating birthdays due to the fact that we need to save some money for our upcoming baby as I will also ready myself to give birth to our first born. Well, a simple cake is the witness to this, well this time it’s a piece of choco- almond cake.

You want a piece of me?

If you can see on the picture, it was labeled VEG, in short for vegetarian or a cake which vegetarians can consume. It is eggless but for me it was just the same although the texture will be the difference. I didn’t enjoy much of the taste of sliced almonds on top and on the side, but I really did compliment on the moist chocolate flavor.

It's A piece of cake!!!

I did cook some pasta spaghetti at that time and hubby also bought home Butterscotch ice cream, and that was it, birthday was complete. What was important was that God granted him another good year, life which is protected by God and good health.

I just can’t help sometimes to think of ways I can do to earn and save more so that by next time, I will be presenting a big gift box wrapped just for him, for now, I didn’t have any birthday presents, so dry but anyway, it’s not only one time, someday I can also be contributing a lot…sigh! This year was just the driest of my entire online income stream; hope to get myself back for good offers as I keep my fingers crossed. Have some cake anyone!

Eggless Cakes for your Health

Eggless Cake at Monginis

Some of us are vegetarians and prefer to buy and eat food without meat and eggs. This is one bakeshop that I have discovered that offers eggless cakes and pastries. It can also be good if you are really strict on dieting and losing all those calories and just can’t help but to diet. Eggless cakes can also be considered healthy for people who really wanted to cut off that cholesterol in their diet.
Eggless cakes are usually the same taste like any other cakes with eggs but the sweetness is really tolerated. I can say that one slice can never get you used of the taste because it was just created not to be too sweet. I do like the cakes served at Monginis cake stores which I think is the leading cake supplier in India, a place where most of the communities are vegetarians.

But certainly I haven’t seen any type of fondant cake around, mostly are boiled icing and if you are a patissier, you will also say the same thing. By the way, I am not a patissier by profession, I am just a regular customer buying cakes and pastries and I tend to compare most of what I get from different stores and bakeshop. I always go for the quality and at the same time the price which can be affordable and not too much to make a hole out of my pocket.

Eggless cakes are not that sweet

I used to remember sweet pastries and delightful delicacies back home and I can never find it here to where I am. But there are things that I can say I really discover when different application is applied due to culture and belief. Although even if they don’t use eggs in most of their cakes here, I still find the prices a bit pricey when I try to compare those delicious cakes I have back home which is of course, you might say “sinful” because it was lavishly designed for you to get fat but the price was really cheaper.
The texture of the cake is not the same with what I have from the past (cakes from my country) probably because of how the cake has been made. It does lack fluffiness and some x factor or ingredient that I am looking for which does not condense my thought. I don’t know if it was just my palate but certainly if you wanted eggless cakes, they are good for health, but if you want it sweeter, fluffier and truly captivating, try the ones with eggs. It’s your choice, which one should you select?
